| Friday 1st October |
6.00 pm. Welcome drinks and information at Johanniter Hotel, Nieder-Weisel for visitors and local officials. (Includes powerpoint presentation giving some idea of the kind of life our German ancestors experienced on the goldfields in Australia in the 1850s, plus images of Melbourne in 1850s and present day).
7.30 pm. Dinner at Johanniter Hotel. |
| Saturday 2nd October |
9.30 am Walking tour of Nieder-Weisel.
Includes Dorfkirche & Commandery Church, cemetery, early history and village life. Stroll the nightwatchman’s path, learn about the moat and watchtowers, the two big village fires, and much more. Walk will be approx 2 hours with break for refreshments in middle.
Lunch - opportunity to enjoy a Bavarian style lunch with Nieder Weisel Tennis Club (walking distance from end of walk)
Afternoon - Free time.
walk around Nieder Weisel at leisure
possibility of visiting local Nieder Weisel homes
take bus into Butzbach to look around.
visit Butzbach Museum.
6.00 – 8.00 pm Game of kegle (nine pin bowling) at Zur Glocke,
Australia v Germany.
8.00 pm Dinner at Zur Glocke (small local bar/hotel)

| Sunday 3rd October |
Approx 10.30 am Church Service at Dorfkirche followed by Dedication of Memorial in church grounds. Refreshments in Church Hall.
 
Pastor Cornelia Hankel has kindly agreed to officiate at the Memorial dedication following the church service
Afternoon - free time.
